Create a Customer Group:
Customer Groups are used to substitute customers into different groups.
To create a Customer Group, go to Accounts Receivable > Setup >Customer Groups
When Customer Group form is opened, click new to create a new group, fill in the description and choose Customer Account Number Sequence code.
At the end Save & close the form.
Create a Customer:
To create a new Customer, user will go to Accounts Receivable>Customers>All Customers
After opening All customers, click new a new form will be opened to choose a template, Select the desired template.
After choosing a template fill in the following details and then Save:
– Enter a Customer Account Name in the name field. The system automatically generates the Customer account if the customer account number sequence is specified in the Customer group form in the Number sequences section.
– Select if this customer represents a person or an organization in the Record type field.
– Enter the First Name, Middle Name and Last Name of the customer.
– Select the customer group to which the customer belongs in the Customer group field.
– Select the currency used for customer invoices in the Currency field.
– Click the Save and open button and select Customer.
Customer Posting Profiles:
Posting Profiles are common throughout all modules. In Accounts Receivable posting profiles, the summary accounts, are defined for customers. Summary accounts are temporary accounts where all invoices are posted to and offset when the customer pays. Assign posting profiles to:
– All customers
– Groups of customers
– Single customers
To setup Customer Posting Profile access, Account Receivable>Setup>Customer Posting Profiles
Create a new Posting Profile, Choose the newly create profile, go to the Setup menu and add an Account code. User can choose an Account code from
– Table
– Group
– All
Define the summary account i.e. Accounts Receivable. In the Table Restrictions section turn on Automatic Account Settlement and other options as required. At the end save & close the form.
